In-flight entertainment and the London desk report

One-eyed Johnson displays new one-eyed book on Virgin Atlantic flight 4 to London

Yes, that's me above, flashing my copy of Devilish that arrived at my apartment just an hour before my departure. Jane Jarvis, the heroine, is about to meet the world.

Back at the London desk! I feel like I never left it. I have already had two phone calls and three texts from Keith, asking me when and where I am taking him to dinner. Tony Blair's head is just as oblong as I remember it

And here in the L.O., work begins on a new book. I will tell you this . . . it involves diving. Which means that next week, I am going to have a tank of air strapped to my back while submerged. All in the name of research.

Have I mentioned before that I am not the absolute best person with water? (Well, water and darkness and sealife. It's more that.) And that I fear jellyfish and lobsters and Moray Eels and even certain species of clam? That I scream like a five year old on water slides (ALLEGEDLY). But if I have to learn to dive, then I have to learn to dive. There is no time for silly fears when there is writing to be done.

(It should also be noted that Keith laughed for a full fifteen minutes on hearing this. If he really wants his dinner, he had better stop that right now.)

ALLEGEDLY. That reminds me of this one thing Kathy Griffin did.

I'm not a huge fan of water either.
